Content Panel - What are content panels?

Content panels allow you to create more interactive web resources. The power of the content panel is its ability to bring resources together from other locations into one location and is very useful for building lesson modules, presentations, and other types of information together. Information on how to build a content panel is contained in this link.
Creating a Content Panel
  1. Login and enter folder where you desire to add content panel.
  2. Select "add item" from labels and select "content panels" from drop down menu.
  3. Enter panel information such as title and description.



Creating Layout of Content Panel
  1. Select "layout" from tabs on top of editing window.

  2. Title page and set row and column padding to desired amount.

  3. Add, delete, or adjust column width depending upon your needs.

    Here is a list of the content panel icons and their functions.
    • = Delete
    • = Create new column
    • = Add new content to column (called viewlets)
    • = Add a new page
    • = Edit content
    • = Move column
  4. After finishing the layout it is time to add content. You can adjust the layout after content has been created.

Creating Content
  1. Click on to add content (viewlet).
  2. A new window should appear called "Panel Configuration". If a pop-up window didn't appear you may need to set your browser to allow pop-ups.
  3. In the viewlet window, select the type of viewlet to add to your content panel. There are options for a calendar, simple text in HTML, RSS, Inline Frames, recent changes, and favorites.
  4. After clicking on a viewlet option, add content and then click "Preview" to preview what the content will look like.

  5. Click "Select this panel" to add viewlet to content panel.
